Martha Kovac designs health care surveys of providers and practice leaders, adults with disabilities, and low-income vulnerable families. She has expertise in conducting qualitative interviews, focus group discussions, and web tool usability testing with health care providers and consumers.
Kovac has designed surveys covering topics such as medical practice staffing, revenue and expenses, health quality and quality improvement, electronic health records and meaningful use, access and coordination of care, unmet needs, and social security disability insurance. She is also experienced in usability testing, cognitive interviewing, and focus group moderation. She is the survey director for the Physician Practice Information Survey which will gather practice level staffing and expense information from varied medical practices and their providers across the country. Kovac recently directed a national survey of city and state organization leaders to assess attitudes and behaviors of what shapes health and well-being.
Kovac presents her work at professional conferences sponsored by the American Public Health Association, American Association for Public Opinion Research, and Health Survey Research Methods. She holds an M.P.H. in health policy and management from the School of Public Health, University of California at Los Angeles.
The objectives of the survey were twofold: (1) to understand leaders’ attitudes with regard to their organization’s perspective on population health and (2) to identify the attitudes associated with leaders’ perspectives regarding their organization’s intention to engage in behaviors that advance population health.
