National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP)

The National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) is a searchable online registry of more than 330 substance abuse and mental health interventions. NREPP was developed by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help the public learn more about evidence-based interventions that are available for implementation. NREPP is one way that SAMHSA is working to improve access to information on evaluated interventions and reduce the lag time between the creation of scientific knowledge and its practical application in the field.

As a subcontractor to the Development Services Group, Inc. (DSG), Mathematica is assisting with the operation and further development of the NREPP. Together, DSG and Mathematica are applying evidence standards to diverse research designs and program areas to ensure the quality of reviews and NREPP submissions, identifying management approaches to improve program efficiency, developing state-of-the art dissemination approaches to extend the reach and usability of results, and continuing to foster the evolution of NREPP over time. Our work also includes screening interventions submitted for review, overseeing and managing the review process for interventions, responding to quick turnaround requests, and completing systematic reviews to be added to the NREPP Systematic Review Library.
